Photovoltaic Station Olympiaki Photovoltaiki

The PV station Olympiaki Photovoltaiki consists of 56 rotating mounting bases (trackers) and reaches 100 kWp of nominal power and is located at Ano Agiannis, in Pieria Perfecture at the Central Macedonia region of Northern Hellas.

The project was funded by the European Union and the Hellenic Ministry of Ecomonics 50%, according to the National Development Law 3299/04.

The PV station is the first in the area that applies the specific technologies and it is expected to produce more than 170.000 kWh yearly according to PV logs in the area, and in addition, the relevant reduction in Co2 emissions will be at 150.000 kgr. The project involved the participation of more than 40 people and 2 new working places were created. Reliable Greek products and constructions were used where possible.

The station is already hosting seminars for technicians and mechanics, while the required infrastructure to allow educational field trips from schools exists.

The procedure of the necessary studies and licenses was initiated at August 2006 with the submission of license application to R.A.E (Regulatory Authority for Energy) and completed at May 2008 with the final contract with the PPC (Public Power Corporation) and the installation of their energy meters.

The licensing issuing process was undertaken by Compa Solar investment group in cooperation with Photovoltaic.
